When doing your tax return, you must declare your interest income + taxes withheld from your bank accounts to the ATO.

We created a quick guide for you to download your interest & tax summary from your specific financial institution.

Remember
  • to always confirm with your accountant (us) which account's statements are needed to do your tax return. It will save you time by downloading and providing the RIGHT account statements required
  • we only accept Interest & Tax summaries, or statements. Not loan contracts.

  • select the right financial year + the right account

  • For internet banking, it would help if you or your financial institution helped rename/nickname & group your accounts so you know exactly which account relates to your tax affairs.
i.e.: home loan, rental property loan, joint accounts, business interest account etc.

Ask the bank

If you DO NOT have access to Internet banking, you can always contact your bank to assist you (either visit the branch in person or call them).

Before you contact them, always check with us exactly what we require so you can relay our exact words/details over to your bank. Contacting the bank takes and wastes a lot of time, so we want you to get it right in the first visit/call, not after several visits/calls.
